Sanlorenzo launches captains’ academy

The inaugural event is targeted at future certified captains and technicians of Sanlorenzo yachts…

Italian shipyard, Sanlorenzo has today announced that it will once again focus on education, with the announcement of the Captains’ Academy. Taking place on November 26th to 30th, this inaugural event is targeted at future certified captains and technicians of Sanlorenzo yachts.

Gathering captains and technicians from across the globe, this new event aims to bring those in attendance into the world of Sanlorenzo, through a variety of targeted workshops and guides, which should provide a more in-depth exploration of the products and services offered by Sanlorenzo.

Over the duration of the course, small groups will be provided with lessons and presentations in what the shipyard has to offer the captains working aboard Sanlorenzo yachts.

The overarching aim here for the shipyard appears to be the desire to provide owners with fully-trained crew members who fully understand the workings of a Sanlorenzo and how to optimise their potential.

Sanlorenzo has stated that those in attendance will be “immersed in shipyard life”, which will provide captains and technicians solid foundations for working aboard a Sanlorenzo yacht, proven by a certificate of participation, once the course has been completed.

During the event, those in attendance will also be given hospitality training from five-star industry consultants, who will provide captains and technicians with a series of key skills for use on board. Furthermore, participants will take part in a range of team-building activities during the five days of the course.
