Attention All Captains - All Hands On Deck

In anticipation of an exciting first quarter, we turn to our network for the most relevant opinions and ideas…

The Superyacht Group anticipates an exciting first quarter of the new decade. With the publishing of the 200th issue of The Superyacht Report, we are now in the process of completing issue 201 - The Superyacht Shipyard Report, alongside a wealth of opportunities that we will be bringing to the industry in 2020.

Issue 201 of The Superyacht Report is an examination of the state of some of the most influential new build and refit yards in the industry. The fleet section will focus on summarising the global markets while there will be three regional reports focusing on the German superyacht market.

As a group we are constantly searching for the opinions and stories from members of the industry to deliver the most accurate and relevant journalism.

Looking to the next issue, The Superyacht Captains Report, we are calling upon our readers to enrich this report with a new strategy. In order to build a truly candid, honest and useful report, we are turning to our network of captains and asking what it is that they would like to read and also the pressing issues that they would like to share with the industry.

We invite you to contribute suggestions or opinions about what you would like to see explored in the upcoming issue. Share your ideas with me here, georgie@thesuperyachtgroup.com to help us build this revolutionary report.

We want to know about the issues facing captains –from the everyday operational side to the emotional and psychological effects of working on board. With your help, we can raise awareness of how the industry needs to change for the better, and help build the foundations for the future.

In addition to editorial commitments, The Superyacht Group’s events schedule is also awash with activity. Members of the team will be on the ground at the 20th edition of the Benetti Yachtmaster event in Barcelona 19-21st February. The event will focus on improving the client experience of the design process and the subsequent encounters with the shipyard during a build project.

The Dubai International Boat Show, which takes place 10-14th March, will also see The Superyacht Group’s chairman Martin Redmayne speak at the Dubai International Superyacht Summit discussing the strategy for developments in the region. There has been huge investment into the Gulf region over recent years and plans to develop many more marinas in Dubai will certainly put the area on the superyacht map.

Running alongside the Yachting Aftersales & Refit Experience (YARE) in Viareggio 18-20th March is The Superyacht Captains Forum. An event at which offers an opportunity for captains to air their grievances as well as brush up on some of technical and regulatory elements of their role.  The Superyacht Group will be on the ground in Viareggio finding out what really matters.
