Young Professionals in Yachting Monaco chapter stages first event
Young Professionals in Yachting has established a Monaco chapter. The group staged its first monthly event at the Yacht Club de Monaco on 15 May.…
The purpose of the group is, in its organisers’ words, ‘to provide its members with a platform through which they can build professional networks and improve transparency and trust across our industry, all whilst building on their experience.’
ITmovesIT chief sales officer, Marcela Royer, has been installed as YPY Monaco’s inaugural president. Speaking to SuperyachtNews.com Royer said that the group was founded following a chance meeting with YPY Fort Lauderdale founder, D.J. Kiernan, and the original chapter has offered significant support in helping promote the fledgling chapter.
“We will meet once a month at the yacht club [de Monaco] for an hour and a half or workshops, networking or presentations from guest speakers”, Royer explained. The group will welcome professionals from all land-based yachting sectors and aims to provide a platform for knowledge sharing and generating constructive dialogue. And as Royer explained, the intention is that a network of expertise will be established in and around Monaco.
The May event welcomed Fabien Roché of Sunrise Yachts and Alison Rentoul – The Crew Coach – as guest speakers and they both discussed tips for professional success in the superyacht industry. On 13 June YPY will host MYBA board members, Fiona Maureso and Jacqui Lockhart.
