ITALY, Bologna. Waterforce 78 is a 23.9m motoryacht concept by Italian design graduate Lorenzo Kerkoc. The design attempts to combine ideas from the automotive and military industries, and includes a tender garage that houses a small custom car — a growing trend.

“The novelty of this yacht is found aft of the yacht, where the tenders are housed,” explains Kerkoc. “An exclusive garage welcomes WaterforceTender, a special four-wheel car, and two innovative side hangars house two watercraft.”

The concept, which was created as part of Kerkoc’s thesis, is able to accommodate a total of eight guests across two twin en suite guest cabins, a VIP cabin and a master suite. The twin cabins are fitted with movable beds, offering an owner the option of having double or twin rooms. Forward of these is the VIP suite, with a full-beam master cabin located amidships.

“My thesis project involved the full study of an exterior, both stylistically and technically, including the versatility of space, the study of materials, tenders and the handling of their garages,” says Kerkoc.

One of the main features of the exterior is the incorporation of wings in the carbon superstructure that connect the top of the vessel with the hull, which were inspired by the shape of military aircraft.

According to the designer, four Volvo Penta IPS1200 engines, producing a total of 3,579kW, will achieve a top speed of 50 knots and a cruising speed of 40 knots.
