Turquoise Yachts appoints new CEO

Patrik von Sydow will take his post as the new Turquoise Yachts CEO in July 2019…

Turkish superyacht builder, Turquoise Yachts has today announced it has appointed a new CEO as the facility continues on its strategic plan to increase its production and overall market share.

Mehmet Karabeyoglu, founder and shareholder of Turquoise Yachts, will be relinquishing his post as CEO to Patrik von Sydow, from July 2019.

With a proven track record as CEO and managing director of several international companies, von Sydow will be bringing extensive knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes to the role. His experience extends across a multitude of industries including, FMCG, security, automotive, commercial vessels as well as well-known yachting brands, including Sunseeker and Numarine.

Karabeyoglu will continue as a member of the Board of Directors, paying special attention to the sales and marketing of the shipyard. While Dr. Mohammed al Barwani, and Arie Van Andel, who has joined Turquoise from Oceanco, will make up the rest of the Board.

Turquoise Yachts has now delivered a total of 28 superyachts, with a cumulative LOA of 1363.2m, since it was founded in the 1970s. The shipyard has a series of exciting projects on the horizon, boasting the largest order book in Tukey, with five projects under construction. The shipyard has also recently seen the successful completion of 76.8m M/Y Go, designed by H2 Yacht Design.
