'Triton' to be auctioned on order of US court
The 49.7m yacht Delta yacht, 'Triton' will be auctioned on April 26 in San Diego to satisfy a US Court order.…
The auction is the result of failure of motoryacht Triton and its associated parties to fulfill the terms of a loan agreement commenced in 2010. Southern district of California court documents attest that a loan agreement was worked out between lenders, Sea Prestigio, LLC and Triton on June 30 2010. The first of two payments, a $15.5 million disbursement, was made by Triton into an escrow account but the second $5.5 million payment was not made. Under the terms of the agreement Sea Prestigio had the right to take possession of the vessel in the event of default. Triton was therefore seized and later subject to an order of sale in January this year.
Triton is fondly described by Delta as ‘aptly named for the mighty ruler of the sea’ and she has an extensive list of features. These include a hydraulically deployed tender towing system and an electro-hydraulically powered lift to shuttle guests to and from the crow’s nest. She also has a dive compressor with Nitrox and Tri-Mix capabilities, hydraulically deployed dive platform for ease of entry and exit from the water and heli-deck.
Pullman berths in all four guest staterooms allow for accommodation for up to 14 guests. Owner's galley can be used as a country kitchen for owners or guests or completely closed for crew access only.
Prospective buyers are invited to contact Michelle Jones at Delta Marine to arrange visits (to be conducted on any day except weekends) prior to her auction. Triton will be auctioned at Nielsen Beaumont Marine, Inc. 2420 Shelter Island Drive, San Diego, California 92106 on 26 April.
