The Superyacht Forum 2018 – Programme now live

"The Perfect Customer Journey" programme for The Superyacht Forum 2018 is now available to view online…

After a record breaking 2017 event, which saw over 800 of the superyacht industry’s most influential individuals visit The Superyacht Forum (TSF) over the course of four days, the industry’s premier event returns to Amsterdam once again from 12-14 November. Building on the successes of 2017, this year’s programme promises to be more dynamic, targeted and focussed than ever before. This year’s event has one very clear objective: to outline and improve “The Perfect Customer Journey” – and the programme is available to view online now.

Regardless of the subject matter, be it taxation, sustainability, crewing, future technology or otherwise, the superyacht owner will be at the forefront of every discussion. At every turn those leading the discussion will ask attendees: ‘How will a development in this area benefit the end user? How can we improve the customer journey and ensure superyacht owners remain in the market and encourage the next generation of owners?’. Much has been made of the ‘headaches’ associated with superyacht ownership, it is the collective responsibility of the market to develop antidotes for the pains owners have expressed.

The TSF programme therefore is designed to replicate the customer journey. The first day is dedicated to “Starting the Journey – Understanding Ownership”, with a focus on chartering, buying, legal & fiscal issues, marketing and new thinking. Topics include “The Business of Ownership”, which will explore legal, fiscal and financial issues, and will consider what the market can do to make ownership a more attractive and transparent prospect.

Day two will be dedicated to “Building and Rebuilding the Fleet – Optimising Ownership”. Within a variety of keynote and workshop formats, industry experts will explore issues relating to new build, refit, project management, innovation and inspiration. The opening keynote for the day, “Owners Disrupting the Industry”, will see a panel of superyacht owners who have also invested in the superyacht market offer their thoughts on how the ownership experience can be improved, and how they intend to disrupt (or improve) the market with their new ventures.

On the final day of TSF, entitled “Operating & Managing – Enjoying Ownership”, conversations will move towards the operation of the vessels and how to ensure the ownership experience is made as enjoyable as possible. As we all know, enjoying a superyacht is not simply born of visiting beautiful places with loved ones, it also requires a detailed approach to the operation of a vessel on the part of the owner’s team, be it the senior crew, management, family offices or otherwise – on the final day, we explore both. “Seeking Perfection” asks a team of lifestyle and experiential experts to explore the world of luxury experiences and draw parallels with our own industry in order to ascertain how the superyacht industry can improve.
