'Eclipse' sails up the Hudson

The world's largest superyacht, the 162.5m 'Eclipse' has arrived in downtown New York. According to US media reports, she is rumoured to be staying there until April.…

CNBC.com has reported that the world’s largest superyacht, Eclipse is currently docked in downtown New York, having sailed up the Hudson River.

The report compared the appearance of the 162.5m behemoth to that of a ‘blue whale swim[ming] up the Hudson in the dead of winter.’ The report also claims that Eclipse could be berthed at her new home until April 2013.

Eclipse underwent maintenance work at Fincantieri's Muggiano shipyard at the end of 2012.
