Spring date set for Mandalina Marina's superyacht berths
Mandalina Marina, Croatia has announced that 79 new berths for yachts up to 140m will be open for business in Spring.…
The marina currently has capacity for 15 berths for yachts from 30m to 80m so the extension is a considerable addition to its capacity for superyachts.
The dry dock area and larger parking space will be open by the end of February 2012, and a new office and storage buildings open by Spring. The entire array of facilities and berths will be completed for an official launch in Spring, meaning the marina is only slightly behind its originally-planned November 2011 completion date.

The expansion of Mandalina to fit much larger yachts can be seen as a parallel trend to that of the increasing size of the overall length of superyachts. In 2010, the cumulative overall length of the top 100 yachts delivered (up to 31 December 2010) was 9,567m. In 2011, this number increased by almost 100m to 9,660m. And currently, looking at the top 100 yachts expected to be delivered in 2012 and beyond, that figure grows to 10,051m. This represents a growth in overall length amongst the biggest yachts by 484m, since 2010. This figure suggests that, as with Mandalina, we should see more marinas offering bigger berths to meet what is a growing demand.
