The SC 122, a collaborative project between Strand Craft and Gray Design, has moved a step closer to becoming a reality with the news that the partnership has selected Nedship as the yard to build the lightweight composite vessel, along with its larger sister, the SC 166.

As a specialist in composite hull production, the partners cited Nedship as the obvious choice. Egon Faiss, Marketing Director at Nedship, explained the appeal of the SC model: “The highlights on each Strand-Craft are the outstanding design of a new Open series combined with a lot of technical features that create a fully usable and fast planing megayacht. It also represents a unique solution on the market - the choice between a one-off, custom supercar as tender, or a super-fast tender boat.

“Even though the layout is different to all other Open yachts on the market, nothing is missing on board. Depending on the model and the engine package, these go up to 55 knots and will be built according to Rina and MCA class.”
