Rupert Marine announces Rupert Yachts

Rupert Marine has announced a new division called Rupert Yachts, which will deliver a new line of boats, with the first model being a 25-metre motoryacht called the Rupert 80.…

Swedish boat builder Rupert Marine has produced high quality RIB-boats for the military, police, maritime rescue organisations and private individuals since it was founded in 1996. The Täby-based builder has announced a new division of the company called Rupert Yachts, which will deliver a new line of boats. The first of which is the Rupert 80, a 25-metre motoryacht that can be used as either a luxury yacht or a shadow vessel.

“Rupert Marine’s latest design is intended for owners of superyachts and other demanding customers,” explains Thomas Rönnberg at Rupert Marine. “Designed in cooperation with world-renowned naval architects and designers, the exterior bears the signature of Ted Mannerfelt and is the first in a series of Rupert Yachts that are now in development.”

The stealth-looking exterior by Mannerfelt Design Team bares many of the characteristics associated with the Rupert Marine brand, adhering to the design brief. The interior, by Nauta Design, accommodates between four to six guests—depending on the specifications—and two crew on the lower deck. The master en suite cabin is located at the bow, with a twin cabin just behind on the port side. The crew quarters are situated amidships on the port side, with the galley forward of this and the engine room aft. The main deck includes a respectable-sized salon, which connects directly to the aft seating area. This space offers plenty of space for sunbathing and includes an area at the stern for the storage of a jetski, with another sunbathing bed situated on the foredeck. Up another level and guests are presented with a generous outdoor eating/socializing area, with a second helm station forward of the sun deck.

With the hull design by Hakansson Marine, the vessel will achieve a top speed of 40 knots thanks to triple Volvo 1200 IPS engines. At a cruising speed of 34 knots, the yacht is expected to achieve a range of 600nm, with an extended range of 900mn when at 20 knots. “Special attention has been given to ensuring low noise and vibration levels, high reliability of all systems and low maintenance costs,” says Rupert Marine. “Like other Rupert boats, this 80-foot yacht can be customized to the specifications of the client.”

The first Rupert 80, which is under construction and due to be launched in August 2013, has already been sold and is set to be exhibited at the 2013 Monaco Yacht Show.
