Plans approved for new development at Southampton marina

Ocean Village, Southampton UK has announced the approval of development plans for a 5 Star hotel, waterfront apartments and new restaurant and retail spaces.

The project is a joint venture between Nicolas James Group, owner of Harbour Hotels and MDL Marinas, owner and operator of Ocean Village.

The hotel, named Southampton Harbour Hotel & Spa, will when complete have 76 bedrooms, spa, gym and swimming pool, a ‘luxurious’ restaurant and champagne roof terrace. Plans for the ground floor include a large open plan lounge, restaurant and bar, which will extend out onto a terrace.

A new retail and restaurant arcade at the front of the marina and adjacent to the hotel is also part of the plans approved.

Tenders for the construction are due within weeks, with work commencing as soon as possible.

Ocean Village Marina has five berths for yachts over 30m and can accommodate a maximum length of 60m.
