Peter Zoeteman has been appointed general director of the Holland Shipbuilding Association. Zoeteman, 52, has broad maritime experience including post of general director of Alfa Laval Aalborg Industries Nijmegen from 2004 to 2012.

“The Board is convinced that Peter’s knowledge of the maritime sector and experience in technology, commerce and management makes him the obvious candidate for taking on the challenges within the association,” said Sjef van Dooremalen, Chairman of the Association.

“One of his most important tasks will be to elaborate on the strategic spearheads of the association and streamline the executive organisations.”

Zoeteman has also served as member of the Board of the Holland Marine Equipment Association and has held several positions at Wärtsilä in the Netherlands and France, including a three-year period as sales director at Wärtsilä Propulsion.

Zoeteman succeeds Mieke Bakker-Mantjes, who acted as general director from September 2011 to April 2013.

The Holland Shipbuilding Association is the central organisation of the Netherlands’ Shipbuilding Industry Association (VNSI) and Holland Marine Equipment Association. It is also part of the international Maritime by Holland campaign; a joint initiative by the 11,000 companies which power the maritime cluster in the Netherlands.
