New Christian Fischbacher showroom at DCCH

The renowned Swiss textile firm Christian Fischbacher has opened its doors at its first London showroom, located in Design Centre Chelsea Harbour. Continuing its strategy of expansion, this newest showroom follows the openings of showrooms in Munich, Tokyo and Osaka last year.

Covering about 120sqm, the new space showcases Christian Fischbacher’s collection of interior fabrics, carpets, bed linens, towels, downs and feathers. The showroom was planned and executed by Christian Fischbacher’s architect of choice for all of its showrooms, Veit Rausch from St Gall, and featuring the classic Fischbacher design and layout, with reduced, almost minimalist architecture, elegant furniture and a generous spatial concept.

“Innovation and creativity is what we stand for,” says Camilla Fischbacher, art director at the company, and the Spring 2011 collection clearly demonstrates this. Incorporating eye-catching brights, subtle shimmers and luxurious sheens, the collection features three lines, Au Fil Du Temps, Home III and Belcanto, which experiment with interesting material combinations in velvet and silk, satin and cotton, upholstery and decorative materials burn-outs and in betweens. It is a collection of well-matched fabrics that can be creatively combined in numerous ways. Stand out fabric designs in the collections include the quirky pink and pale yellow Liaison and the tulip covered Beaute, which embodies spring.
