This month, the formation of the new Fort Lauderdale-based brokerage firm, Superyacht Sales and Charter, was announced. The firm will be assisting clients on a full-service platform, offering sales, charter and yacht management.
“We are positioning ourselves in the market as a boutique brokerage firm”, began Rob Newton of Superyacht Sales and Charter. “We have a highly skilled team of individuals with a wealth of experience in their designated roles and we have worked with each other for many years. It’s certainly an exciting time to be entering the market with a new venture.”
The new team of brokers, whose expertise in the 30m+ segment shapes the group’s central focus, have retained the central agency listings of their clients, such as 37.5m Perseverance II and 44.6m Cracker Bay, formerly for sale with Yachtzoo, but now contractually listed for sale with Superyacht Sales and Charter. Newton insists that the smaller team will allow them to work closer and more efficiently with current and future clients, whilst inspiring a more flexible and reactive approach to what is a market of unremitting change.
“We are really pleased with the timing of our entry into the market as a full-service brokerage firm. The sales market has been slow, allowing us to attract some top quality personnel amidst a frustrating period for the industry, and we are now establishing our position at a time that the American market is starting to look more promising”, he continued. Newton clarified that the firm would be operating out of Fort Lauderdale, but has ambitions of expanding into European superyachting hubs, such as Monaco.
The new Superyacht Sales and Charter team is as follows: Rob Newton, June Montagne, Rodd Taylor, Judy Apicerno, Seana Taylor, Melinda Miller, Rachel Morris and Deryck Fullwood.
