On Friday December 11 the 50 members of Nautica Italiana, including six new names, met in Viareggio for the first general meeting of the three-month-old association. The addition of the new member companies has seen Nautica Italiana’s numbers double in this short space of time.

“The association is currently reviewing a number of applications, and we are proud to welcome six new brands that have chosen Nautica Italiana and its project,” states Lamberto Tacoli, chairman of Nautica Italiana. “The constant interest from various parties in our programme confirms the need for new stimuli and new activities for the industry.”
The new members, Guidi, Marina di Genova, Opem Sistemi, San Giorgio Sein, Team Italia and Titi take Nautica Italiana’s total represented turnover up to €1.337 billion, more than 60 per cent of total Italian nautical production turnover and over 80 per cent of Italian shipyard turnover.
A presentation delivered jointly at the general meeting by the Chairman’s committee and the general manager of Fondoazione focussed on Nautica Italiana’s rapid expansion and the group’s dedication to the ‘Nautica 365’ strategic project outlined in October.
Nautica 365 is founded on three central tenets: The Nautica Italiana Manifesto, containing nine legislative proposals in support of industry growth; the Ethical Contract, which attempts to ensure responsibility & transparency; and lastly, the national & international promotional plan, which pertains to a new events strategy for the industry. The programme was approved unanimously.
