Lürssen Americas has announced the appointment of Timothy Hamilton as Director, alongside the opening of a sales and marketing office in Fort Lauderdale.

Hamilton will be leading Lürssen’s efforts to build on its success in the American markets, focusing on building yachts of 50 to 75m.

Previously he was the Director of Feadship America, followed by an entrepreneurial endeavour in the real estate industry. He started collaborating with Lürssen at the end of 2017 and moved with his family to Germany to work at the Lürssen head office. “I am humbled at the opportunity to re-enter the yachting industry and represent such a legendary shipyard as Lürssen”, says Hamilton.

This January, Hamilton opened the sales and marketing office at the Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina in Fort Lauderdale. From this office, Hamilton and his team will serve Lürssen customers throughout North and South America.

Lürssen’s Sales Director Michael Breman is happy with this appointment: “Timothy will help us to bridge the distance between our shipyard here in Bremen, Germany, and the important US market.”

Lürssen was founded in 1875 and still remains in the hands of the Lürssen family. According to Superyacht Intelligence data, provided by The Superyacht Agency, Lürssen is currently the fourth most successful shipyard in the market in terms of cumulative LOA delivered. The Superyacht New Build Report, available now, offers a more in-depth insight on the state of the current superyacht market.
