Today the London Yacht Show announced that the 2019 edition of the new show has been postponed until 2020. The delay, according to the event’s organisers, is essential to ensure that the show is of highest quality in order to attract maximum participation from the industry’s various stakeholders at future events.

Extensive consultations with key stakeholders and brands within the UK yachting industry had resulted in the complete rebrand and relaunch of the event, to focus on the high-end boating and luxury goods market, stemming from the previous ‘London On Water Show’.

Announced in December 2018, London Yacht Show had been scheduled to premiere at St. Katharine Docks from 8-12th May 2019, showcasing yachts on water alongside a raft of other luxury industries, with the intention of creating a unique experience for exhibitors and attendees.

“Since an initial burst of interest in the London Yacht Show, take-up has slowed from some segments of the industry and from luxury brands. And so, with just over a month to go until the planned launch, overall commitment to the event is not at the level required to deliver a show with the profile, scale and market breadth the industry asked for and deserves in London,” comments Andrew Williams, President Maritime Group. “Following extensive consultation with key stakeholders, we therefore believe it is in everyone’s interest to postpone the show until next year.”

The event organisers will now focus on delivering the London Yacht Show in 2020, with the continued goal of creating a platform for exhibitors within the growing, international yachting, boating and luxury markets.
