Loher CEO speaks out on 1 June deadline

The CEO of interior outfitting specialist Loher, Alfred Loher Jun, has spoken exclusively to SuperyachtNews.com about the company's impending 1 June wrapping-up order.…

Alfred Loher Jun, CEO and third-generation owner of German superyacht interior fitter Loher, has spoken to SuperyachtNews.com, following reports that the company faces insolvency.

Loher Jun confirmed that the 1 June deadline is in place, but insisted that the company was “in a good position to move ahead.” He explained that the search was on for an investor rather than a buyer, and that the intention was to find an interested party that would retain Loher in its current format, including HQ and personnel.

The investors that Loher is seeking are being termed “strategic” by the CEO, although Loher Jun acknowledged that the impending deadline meant an absolution was necessary. The distinction is, he explained, because “[Loher] will continue with the same management and we’ll continue to negotiate in that direction with the few potential investors we have.”

Negotiations have, up to this point, been very encouraging SuperyachtNews.com is told. Loher attributes this to the company’s “network, expertise and technology”, which includes retaining the skills of him and his brother he says.

And despite such a pressing deadline, Loher is buoyant that an agreeable outcome will be reached. “I am confident that we will achieve [an investment].”
