KVH Industries completes global expansion plan to provide mini-VSAT service to yachts

KVH Industries today completed its plan to offer yachts in every corner of the globe the mini-VSAT Broadband service.  The service, in joint partnership with ViaSat Inc, is now live in South America which officially completes the company's global maritime coverage plan.
 
Mini-VSAT is described by KVH as a more efficient, quick and reliable service than previously available to yachts.  Vessels can be equipped with downloads as fast as 2 Mbps and uploads as fast as 1 Mbps, as well as Voice-over IP (VoIP) and telephone lines with optimised service.
 
“This marks the completion of a powerful, affordable alternative to older, slower, and less-reliable services that were once the only option for mariners.
