Jongert reports several end of year successes

A new order for a 34m sailing yacht is one of the recent positive updates from the Dutch shipyard.…

Dutch shipyard, Jongert has confirmed its third new build order made in just two months.

The order is for a 34m sailing yacht, which the yard received from an existing client two days before FLIBS. The yacht will be an extended version of its 30m line, designed by German Frers. The existing Jongert owner was reported to be ‘delighted with the design of the new Jongert line.’

The announcement follows a spate of recent successes and developments for the yard, which includes two sales, a refit and a new office in the South of France taking place in the last quarter of 2011.

The refit is for 27m Vivid, taking a rest for repair and maintenance work after her recent journey around the world. She will undergo the refit in cooperation with the Sea-Alliance Group. Work includes exterior paintwork, a new teak deck, re-varnishing of some interior parts, a full check of rigging, an inspection, overhaul and repair of all systems, a completely new upholstery and carpentry repair work.

Earlier this month, on 2 November, Jongert established a new branch in Antibes to provide more services to its international clients. The office will supplement the Wieringermeer office in Holland providing more convenient access to the pre-used Jongert Yachts found in the Antibes harbour.

The two yacht sales at the Monaco Yacht Show were a 44.6m motoryacht, by Dubois naval architects and a 44.1m yacht as reported on SuperyachtNews.com
