Joachim Kinder Design has designed a new 22.8-metre flybridge concept, which will be officially unveiled at the 2012 Dubai Boat Show. The concept, which has been commissioned by Dubai Marine, features an abundance of glass on the superstructure and within the hull, providing panoramic views while merging the interior and exterior spaces.

The length of the vessel is exaggerated by the alignment of the bulwarks and the stern. This perceived sleekness resonates throughout the vessel. “Her hull colouring supports this powerful dynamic shape, like a relaxed animal ready to develop tremendous power at any moment," explains the designer. "An aesthetic tension creates a sporty appeal and consequently, the overall concept has been created from the inside to the outside in order to harmonise the hull's lines with the yachts silhouette."

The pervading theme within the yacht is of contemporary Mediterranean styling, achieved through the combination of Zebrano wood, light oak parquet, white leather, stainless steel and granite.

The extensive use of glass in the salon gives it the feeling of a loft, with low profile furnishings allowing the surrounding water to become the dominant feature. "The windows play a key role in the making of this yacht, as the light and spacious interior eliminates any distancing effect that could alienate guests from their environment, allowing them to integrate more fully with the yacht's marine surroundings,” says Kinder. A ‘privacy’ glass partition at the rear of the pantry, adjustable from opaque to transparent, gives a clear view from the helm station to the stern. A sizeable aft-deck glass sliding door in combination with the sculptured staircase also allows for an unhindered view of the stern.

The pantry itself is equipped with a service counter, full range of appliances and large refrigerator. There is an adjacent dining table that can accommodate up to eight guests.

There are four cabins on the lower deck, all equipped with en suite bathrooms. With pride of place though, is the full-beam owner’s cabin, arranged in a porthole shape to further emphasise the yacht’s architecture. The furniture inside is free-standing and the windows panoramic, creating a spacious area.

An additional crew cabin is situated in front of the engine room for improved insulation in the owner’s cabin. This cabin, the laundry and the engine room are all accessible from the port side walkway.
