Hunton adapts model for Chinese client

The British powerboat builder has adapted its XRS43 model to fit a karaoke machine and wine refrigerator for her Chinese client.…

A British manufacturer will be heading out to the Hainan Rendezvous to meet a Chinese client who has commissioned a unique take on its customisable XRS43 model.

The 13.1m XRS43 powerboat from the luxury powerboats manufacturer, Hunton, has been given several Chinese twists to its design on request of her new owner.

New design features on the model, which may be delivered this year, include a built-in karaoke machine and installation of lounge seating instead of a bed. She also has a wine refrigerator, watch-winder and a temperature-controlled humidor.

“This is a boat designed to not only perform like all Huntons, but to provide 24 hour entertainment, on the way to a destination and obviously upon arrival!” enthuses the company statement.

The list of interior requests took the team at Hunton’s factory back to the drawing board.

“We’ve always said that the team at Hunton are up for a challenge, and this commission was certainly that! As well as overcoming the obvious engineering challenges, we’ve set about creating a boat designed to tick every box for this particular customer,” said Fiona Pool, managing director of Hunton.

“We’re thrilled to be heading out to the Hainan Rendez-Vous to meet our customer and have the chance to show Hunton to a whole new market,” added Pool.

The main features of the XRS43 remain the same, from her race-inspired, deep V hull to ‘hidden technology’ that delivers optimum performance.

The Hunton product line includes: XRS43, XRS37, 1005 RIB. A new model, the EQ52, is currently in development and is due for launch in 2013.
