HME to open Singapore office

Holland Marine Equipment (HME) will open its Singapore branch office next week on 15 March. The office will be launched by the Dutch ambassador H.E. Johannes W.G. Jansing at his residence in Singapore, and its opening will coincide with the Asia Pacific Maritime 2012 exhibition.

HME, part of Holland Shipbuilding Association and supported by the Maritime Holland Trade Council, facilitates international trade for the maritime industry. Its Singapore office has been set up to support the international maritime trade between South East Asia and the Netherlands. The office will act as a hub for maritime companies both in the Netherlands and South East Asia.

Marjan Lacet, general manager of HME Singapore, commented: “I am convinced that HME Singapore can place a key role in connecting the Dutch maritime sector to the Asian maritime industries.”



So far, 14 Dutch maritime companies have signed up to the office, which means they will get its assistance. Those signed up are Aquality BV, Corrosion & Water Control BV, CSI Control Systems, Deno Compressors BV, Holland Ship Service BV, Kwant Controls BV, Loggers BV, Machine & Lierenfabriek C. Kraaijeveld BV, Maritime Consult, NRF, Nederlandse Radiateurenfabriek BV, Oliveira Hydro, Marine & Shipping, Rubber design, Serdijin Ship Repair BV, and Wetering Rotterdam.

HME Singapore’s first organised activity is ‘Strong Maritime’, which will take place at Asia Pacific Maritime 2012. The event will see the meeting of least 24 Dutch maritime companies.

The news of the opening of HME’s Singapore branch comes just a week after news of the Isle of Man Government’s opening of a representative office in Singapore.
