With more than 20 years’ experience in the production of aluminium yachts, Alu Marine has announced that it will be showcasing its latest catamaran concept at the Cannes and Monaco boat shows in September 2010. Both the interior and exterior of the 22.5-metre concept have been designed by Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design.

The Havana range has been created for coastal and blue water cruising with the Havana 72 being the first model of the series, with three additional versions available and full customisation offered to potential owners. “The salon, which can be adapted to the owner’s choice, is very light and opens onto the exterior,” says Alu Marine. “The telescopic tables allow the spacious and friendly dining area to be converted into a comfortable lounge.”

The Havana 72 features a 1.65-metre draught, giving it the ability to reach more inaccessible places and has an upwind sail area just shy of 300sqm. The deck, structural bulkheads and hull will be constructed from aluminium with a fully customisable interior that includes a cabin in the aft portside hull, which can be converted from a double bed into twin beds.

“The flybridge seats, the large steering wheel and the location of the navigation instruments ensure the helmsman’s comfort,” explains Alu Marine. “The centralised control lines are brought back to four winches and are particularly easy to use.”
