The Dometic Group has announced the appointment of its new president and CEO, Roger Johansson. Johansson, who started his new role on November 8, attended the 2012 Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) in support of the marine division in his first act as group chief. He also recently toured the Pompano Beach, Florida facility with Dometic Marine President Frank Marciano.

Johansson is confident the company can expand its position in the marketplace, despite the difficult global economic situation. “We have dedicated employees with a lot of ideas on how to even better serve these customers and to grow our business", he explained. "We also have strong owners who are committed to invest smartly in the company for profitable growth. So, although the current global economic environment is not as bright as we would like it to be, especially in Europe, I am very optimistic about our position in the marketplace and our ability to retain and expand that position.”

Johansson and Marciano toured the Pompano Beach facility.

Johansson was previously CEO of BE Group, a publicly listed company on OMX Nasdaq and a leading trading and services group in steel, stainless steel and aluminium.

He is also the former president of Trelleborg Automotive and ex-vice president of General Motors Europe, responsible for Powertrain operations and, before that, purchasing.
