Dassault Systèmes acquires FE-DESIGN Group

Dassault Systèmes, the 3D design software developer, has announced the acquisition of the FE-DESIGN Group, an early-stage virtual product developer, for an undisclosed sum.   

FE-Design produces software for finite element methodology (FEM) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) product design optimisation. FEM allows naval architects to identify potential pressure points in the vessel’s structure where flexural strength may be compromised. CFD could typically be utilised by developers of exhaust silencers or HVAC system developers.

FE-DESIGN’s products and after-sales support network will be incorporated into the Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE package, which offers a comprehensive design solution from concept through to maturity and manufacture.
