Countdown to The Pinmar Golf 2018 begins

The 30th anniversary of The Pinmar Golf will take place in Mallorca from the 18 to 20 October, 2018…

Now in its 30th year, The Pinmar Golf is one of the longest running and best attended events in the annual superyacht calendar, held between the Monaco Yacht Show and FLIBS. Each year, the charitable golf tournament attracts around 350 golfers and 800 guests to Mallorca for three days of friendly competition, social events, networking and parties, culminating in the spectacular Awlgrip Prize-giving Gala Dinner and After Party.

With an international attendance, made up of yacht captains, yacht brokers, management companies, senior shipyard executives and representatives from the superyacht service industries, it offers the perfect opportunity for corporate hospitality, relaxed networking and entertainment for golfers and non-golfers alike.

The Pinmar team has made some changes to the event format to improve the 2018 golf experience and enhance the social programme for non-golfers. The aim is to slightly reduce the number of golf teams competing on the 18-hole course and encourage those who are not regular golfers to participate in the more light-hearted driving range and putting green competitions, as well as enjoying the social ambience of the clubhouse terrace. This ‘Social Player’ package includes transport to Son Gual, a ticket to the Friday Night VIP Party, as well as the Saturday Awlgrip Prize-giving Gala Dinner & After Party.

Once again, the golf tournament will take place at the prestigious Golf Son Gual, but there will be a change of location for the exclusive Friday Night VIP Party to the well-known Cappuccino in Puerto Portals. The Jotun Recovery Brunch, which appeared on the social calendar for the first time last year, will be returning again this year due to popular demand, to be hosted at the iconic Wellies restaurant in Puerto Portals.

Building on the success of last year, the Awlgrip Prize-giving, Gala Dinner and After Party will be returning to the dazzling Son Amar estate. Here, the Pinmar team will be welcoming British TV presenter and former Welsh international gymnast, Gabby Logan, as Master of Ceremonies. With a new show befitting the 30th anniversary celebrations, an executive chef designing a special menu, Gabby hosting the proceedings and Cream Classics providing the sounds for the After Party, it is sure to be an exciting and memorable evening of entertainment.

Not forgetting the fundraising capacity of The Pinmar Golf, which has never failed to deliver: during the 2017 edition, an impressive €101,315 was raised for The Pinmar Golf Charity Fund, taking the overall total from 29 years of the event to €944,415. This tees up perfectly to break through the one-million-euro record at this year’s special 30th year celebration.

The event is fast approaching, so Pinmar invites all of those wishing to enter a team to fill in the Application Form. The Pinmar team will then confirm eligibility before taking all the remaining details and arranging payment. Details of the Social Player and Awlgrip Prize-giving Gala Dinner & After Party ticket packages are available here.
