The merger with Barlow Lyde & Gilbert will offer strengthened services for the superyacht market. The combined firm will operate as Clyde & Co from 1 November 2011...…

Clyde & Co is to merge with Barlow Lyde & Gilbert (BLG) on 1st November 2011.  The combined firm will be known as Clyde & Co.

After the merger Clyde & Co will be able to offer strengthened services for the superyacht market.

John Leonida, Partner at Clyde & Co and member of the firm’s yacht group, said:

"Specifically, the combined firm of Clyde & Co and BLG will have amongst the largest marine, insurance and dispute resolution practices in Europe."

Both law firms have operations in Asia, but the merger will mean even stronger offerings in this emerging market. Leonida stated, “The combined firm has a significant business presence in Asia, especially Hong Kong and mainland China, with particular strengths in dispute resolution and corporate insurance which adds to our superyacht practice offering.”

Clyde & Co has 20 years experience in all legal aspects of superyacht ownership, including in issues such as sale and purchase, construction, finance, crew employment and dispute resolution. Barlow Lyde & Gilbert, is known for its work in the insurance and reinsurance sector; its maritime, energy and trade team resolve issues arising from marine and energy insurance.
