Christensen shipyard closed

Christensen shipyard has closed the gates to its main site, leaving its employees as unclear about its future as the wider industry. The yard is yet to issue a formal statement regarding the term of the closure.…

According to reports in The Columbian, Christensen shipyard has been closed, although there has been no official clarification from the builder on its status. The main manufacturing plant has been shut, although a site housing current project, Missing Link, which was launched at the end of January, is still open, The Columbian states.

SuperyachtNews.com contacted the shipyard but received the same automated message usually reserved for calls made out of office hours.

According to the report, several companies have named Christensen as a debtor in recent months, and rumours have abounded in the wider media of company consolidation and restructuring.

However, president Joe Foggia has remained steadfast amid the conjecture, insisting it’s a case of ‘business as usual’. But despite his resolve, The Columbian claims to have spoken to employees who said they received an email from the yard telling them not to come into work on Monday.
