Isle of Man-based corporate services company Boston has opened a subsidiary company in Malta as part of its ongoing plan of international growth.

The company has declared that Malta, having become a member of the European Union in 2004, “is a highly respectable jurisdiction with international markets and is a globally recognised financial centre.” The region has also become a tier one jurisdiction for corporate and personal tax structuring.

An appealing location for the superyacht industry, Malta has become, according to the corporate service company, an attractive jurisdiction for high net worth individuals looking to relocate due to the region’s low flat rate of tax on foreign income remitted to Malta.

Boston’s Malta subsidiary will offer the following services: Maltese company incorporation within 48 hours; Maltese resident directorships; ongoing company management and administration; experience of holding multi-asset classes, both financial and non-financial; accounting services; VAT and income tax registration; and ongoing VAT and income tax compliance.

A selection of ‘family’ services will also be on offer from the company: relocation to Malta; preservation and wealth management; family governance; philanthropy; luxury asset management; and lifestyle management.

The Malta-based subsidiary will also offer services tailored to yacht administration and leasing. The company will offer yacht registration, both provisional and permanent, for pleasure and commercial vessels, and the formation and management of ownership structures, as well as offering both VAT-efficient yacht ownership arrangements (private and commercial) and agent services for Maltese-flagged vessels.
