Bering Yachts’ new Explorer Yacht
US-based Bering Yachts has announced a new 24-metre explorer yacht with Australian design studio Sabdes Design. The semi-custom tri-deck motoryacht is the second collaboration project between the two parties, in a series of 15 to 24-metre steel oceangoing yachts...…
Working alongside the owner of Bering Yachts and the in-house naval architects and interior designers, Blee set out to create an exterior that would look robust and tough. The very nature of the design allows for the yacht to explore both the Mediterranean and Arctic. “The design is semi-custom, so any owner can have their preference for external styling, layout and features. The look could change quite dramatically pending future requests,” says Blee. Accommodation is offered across one twin and two double guest suites, along with a four-berth cabin at the bow on the lower deck. The owners suite is located forward on the main deck with the galley just behind this and the main salon amidships.
The yacht, which is currently at the final engineering stage of the design, will have a fully automated hybrid propulsion system, which will achieve a maximum speed of 12 knots, with a range of 4,000nm at a cruising speed of 9.5 knots.
