Almouj Marina in Oman, located within luxury development, The Wave, has announced the opening of its first fuelling station this summer. In partnership with Omanoil, the station will provide both diesel and benzene fuels for up to three 45,000 litre tanks. The facility will also house a delivery area, an office for control and monitoring equipment and CCTV surveillance when it opens this month.
“We are pleased to see this latest facility added to those already in place at Almouj Marina. This is an important step in enhancing the services on offer at the marina – the heart of The Wave, Muscat community,” said Abdullah bin Khamis Al Shidi, deputy CEO of The Wave, Muscat.
“Almouj Marina is becoming a popular stop-over destination with visitors and a base for boaters from Oman all enjoying its amenities in close proximity to neighbouring islands especially during summer,” he added.
Fuel is dispensed at the following rates: diesel at 100 litres per minute and benzene at 40 litres per minute. This means that a 45 thousand litre tank would take approximately seven hours to fuel.
The fuel station is built within a designated fueling area and all fuel will be provided by Omanoil.
“Since the soft opening last year, the Almouj Marina team has worked hard to deliver unbeatable service and value for customers. We’re pleased to be able to partner with Omanoil on the addition of a fueling station, which makes another strong offering to Almouj Marina’s customers and visitors,” said Wayne Shepherd, marina operations manager at Mourjan Marinas.
The marina accommodates superyachts between up to 65m LOA, and has completed 120 of its 400 berth plan. The marina, which started operations in Q4 of 2012, is situated within The Wave, Muscat, with access to facilities including waterfront restaurants, supermarket and the Greg Norman-designed PGA Links golf course, Almouj Golf.
