Company Description
Strategically positioned at the gateway to the Mediterranean
Strategically positioned at the gateway to the Mediterranean, Gibdock offers a complete array of interior and exterior ship repair and refit services covering the full range of vessel types, including high-value commercial and support tonnage, cruise ships and superyachts.
The Gibraltar yard has played a leading role in attracting complex repair and refit work to southern European yards. Its natural location advantage is supplemented by the temperate weather that sustains services year-round, but Gibdock also invests continuously in its skilled labour force, facilities and processes to deliver the quality of work, within tight deadlines, on which it has built its reputation. Returning customers represent 70 per cent of Gibdock’s business.
Gibdock has three drydocks, ranging in length from 154m to 272m and served by dock cranes with capacities ranging from eight to 45 tonnes, plus two alongside repair quays – the 300m-long Main Wharf and the 435m-long South Mole. It uses state-of-the-art preplanning software to optimise vessel time in dock and offers its clients creative solutions that include pre-fabrication.
Gibraltar is also the Mediterranean’s largest bunker port and a popular location for crew changeover. It is home to an extensive range of shipping agents and specialist companies offering every kind of support service to shipping.
