The Monaco Yacht Summit returns
Addressing the next generation of the superyacht industry…
On Tuesday September 24th the Monaco Yacht Summit will return to the Yacht Club de Monaco, to once again coincide with the peak of the superyacht show season. Providing valuable insights and discussions into a variety of aspects within the superyacht industry, this year’s Monaco Yacht Summit will see potential yacht owners, charterers, their advisors and family offices and other vital superyacht stakeholders gather to discuss a multitude of pressing subject matters.
Introduced in 2016, the Monaco Yacht Summit recognises the importance for our industry to be in conversation with younger, future owners, in order to inform them of the superyacht industry’s current state and the initiatives taking place to benefit its future.
According to The Superyacht Agency, research into the percentage of the top 500 billionaires in the world shows a significant increase in the number of 30 and 40 year olds that fall into this wealth bracket in 2019 compared to 2013, and a decrease in the number of 70, 80 and 90 year old billionaires.
This year, MYS is set to welcome 125 superyachts, including 42 new launches such as the worldwide premiere of Benetti’s FB 276 M/Y Metis, a custom 63m yacht with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. The interiors have been designed by UK studio Bannenberg & Rowell, who worked in partnership with the Birgit Otte Interior Atelier, and exteriors by Giorgio M. Cassetta.
