A triumphant trifecta

SuperyachtDESIGN Week ended in style, with a keynote session from Quintessence Yachts, Aston Martin and Mulder Design on their AM37 Powerboat Project; incorporating the latest technology and artisanal excellence.…

Ending an engaging and powerful three days in London, a trifecta of luxury brands joined forces for the presentation on the AM37 Powerboat Project. Mariella Mengozzi of Quintessence Yachts and Bas Mulder of Mulder Design shared their own concepts and reasons for coming together for the project. Unfortunately not even an Aston Martin could get design director, Marek Reichman, through the heavy traffic into London from the coast, and as such had to ultimately send his apologies.

Mengozzi comes to yachting with an impressive resumé working with high end brands such as Disney and Ferrari. While Mulder shared, "the project is a unique combination of advanced materials, highly technological components and a one of a kind experience for those passionate for speed!"

Utilising state of the art technology for a hull comprised of composites and carbon fibre, the team were looking for an innovative way to make the most of the interior and keep overall weight to a minimum.

The AM37 Powerboat project

An interesting collaboration, the AM37 combines the expertise of the luxury, automotive and yacht design field in an interesting new concept, one which the team hopes is a jumping-off point for the industry. As Mengozzi commented, "I think it's a natural progression and hopefully one the industry sees more of".
