"Ever since I first stepped foot on Galactica Star, I was hooked. It hits you quite quickly that this is no ordinary craftsmanship."  Douglas McFarlane, CEO of Lomond Yachts recalls his first Heesen experience.

With Galactica Star, the Dutch yard took design to a new level of detail that is amongst the finest in the world. With some simple ingredients of sunlight, wood and glass, a naval architect can create a masterpiece on the water, and with Galactica Star, Heesen excelled.

It was why they deservedly picked up many awards last year, including Best Yacht Design of the Year from Asia Boating. This year nominations have already commenced for two of their latest yachts their 47 metre Elena and the 51 metre MySky.

On the printed page and websites, you can only experience a fraction of what the experience onboard a SuperYacht is like. It's difficult to judge scale, it's not easy to see quality or feel the luxury of the space, and appreciating the interior design isn't something that jumps out of two dimensions. Add a bit of video and it gets a little closer, which is why at Lomond Yachts, the Heesen section includes both.

After inspecting the latest availability and giving due consideration to budget, Lomond Yachts encourage clients to visit the yard and see why they think Heesen are so special.

McFarlane advises that you have to be a strategic thinker and plan early to own a Heesen. "Having the funds isn't going to make a new yacht land in your lap. We often get clients saying they want their SuperYacht on the water this year. That's not going to be Heesen you're looking for then".

Though it's not as long term an outlook as you might think. Heesen have one ready for a new owner in the summer of next year. It's a new 50 metre semi-displacement (pictured), all aluminium motor yacht with accommodation for 12 guests in 6 staterooms and maximum speed of 23 knots.

Three further yachts of similar size have already started being built for 2017. These are among the most sought after yachts in the world, and the early bird catches the worm.

"Start thinking about your Heesen choices by picking up the phone or sending me an email", McFarlane adds.
