Issue 22 - out now

Filled with owner insight, inspiration, interviews and opinion – the latest issue of The Superyacht Owner packs a punch…

Mary and Mark Shores, cover stars of issue 22, planned to run S/Y Marae as a successful charter business from the moment they bought her. In this issue, hot off the press, they talk to The Superyacht Owner about what drew them to the yacht and the challenges of standing out in a charter crowd.

Meanwhile, Harry Macklowe, winner of the St Barths Bucket reflects on this year’s regatta in our photo story. We speak to him and many other owners who were blown away by this year’s competition, some of the closest in recent years.

Elsewhere in this issue, we venture to Norway, to find out why many owners are opting to leave behind the warmer climes of the Med in favour of Northern delights. Lord Laidlaw liked it so much he has already pencilled in another trip for 2018! ‘Endless bays, lots of pretty red and yellow houses, mountains, waterfalls, green walks to be taken,” he says, “gosh, it’s just got endless attractions!”

We also head to Barcelona to OneOcean Port Vell to find out why owners and captains are singing the praises of this forward-thinking marina. Back in London, we also speak to Martin Bellamy CEO at Salamanca Group to find out how they spotted its potential and decided to invest. “There was already capacity for smaller vessels around Barcelona,” he comments, “but almost nothing for bigger boats.”

There’s much more too, including an interview with Benetti CEO Vincenzo Poerio, a tour around the stunning S/Y Solis and a conversation with crew about the most frequent owner problems, and crucially, how to solve them!
