A new event is coming to London next month. The first London Yacht, Jet and Prestige Car Show (LYJPC) will be taking place from 8 to 10 April at St Katharine's Dock and Old Billingsgate, playing host to a wide array of the world's most recognisable yacht, jet and car names.

While London may not seem like the centre of superyachting, as a UHNWI hub, London is tough to top. According to 2014’s Wealth-X and UBS Billionaire Census, 34 per cent of the world’s billionaire population is concentrated in the 20 cities with the largest billionaire populations, with billionaires moving from city to city, rather than from country to country. London is one of the world’s UHNWI hotspots; for every billionaire based in London, there is another who has a second residence there. In fact, in The Sunday Times Rich List published in March 2014, it said that of the 104 UK billionaires, London is a home to 72 of them.

On the list of exhibitors from the superyacht industry is an array of international brokerage houses, shipyards and design studios, including Fraser Yachts, Burgess, Amels, Fincantieri, Blohm + Voss, Nautor's Swan, Pendennis, Design Unlimited and DKT Artworks to name a few. The superyacht realm will stand beside major players in the private aviation and luxury car world as well.

There will be a VIP Lounge, private meeting rooms and two large champagne bars overlooking the River Thames, plus another at St Katherine's Dock, ensuring that guests can enjoy browsing the show's exhibitors and offerings in a social and relaxed way. With the focus of many boat shows not being owners or potential clients but B2B networking and inter-industry mingling, the high end emphasis of this event could potentially signal the arrival of a new kind of show, one that is more client facing and less trade show. The perfect opportunity for those interested in the superyacht industry to learn more about what is on offer.

"Nautor’s Swan is thrilled to be part of the inaugural London Yacht, Jet and Prestige Car Show," Barry Ashmore, the yard's regional director for Northern Europe and Russia, tells The Superyacht Owner. "As part of the company’s strategic expansion, Nautor’s Swan has further strengthened its commercial team around the world. Participation at this show, which will feature some of the leading luxury brands in yachting, aviation and motoring, was a natural fit for Nautor’s Swan."

As one of the media sponsors, The Superyacht Owner will be in attendance at Stand R07 and looks forward to seeing many familiar faces over the three days. To arrange a meeting contact angela@thesuperyachtowner.com.
