POLAND, Gdansk. In recent years the superyacht market has seen increased interest in large multi-hull vessels. Responding to this particular wave, Sunreef, the sailing catamaran specialist, has launched its latest Power Concept – the 150.
Second only to Sunreef’s 64m trimaran concept in size, the 150 Sunreef Power Concept is a 46m evolution of the 90 and 115 Sunreef Power models introduced in 2013 and 2014.
As is typical of a large catamaran, the 150 offers extensive living space for 12 guests and eight crew – around 1000 square metres – thanks in part to its 13.5m beam. The main deck features an open salon with dining and lounging areas, this social area is connected to the cockpit via sliding doors, further extending the social space. Retractable terraces are found to both sides.
The overall layout is open to owner interpretation, with certain areas – such as the aforementioned social area – naturally lending themselves to obvious uses. The upper deck is the ideal spot for an owner’s suite, complete with a 360-degree panoramic view, as well as a generous terrace and direct access to an upper cockpit. VIP cabins, a galley, crew quarters, storage and a gym area will all be found in the two hulls – although the layout, as previously mentioned, remains versatile.
For alfresco living, a large bow terrace is supplemented by a 95 square metre flybridge, with Jacuzzi and relaxation area, as well as a main deck cockpit. The tenders and toys garage is located aft.
With 2 x MTU 2600hp engines the 150 will be capable of reaching speeds up to 22 knots and travelling 4500 nautical miles when cruising at 17 knots.
