Trinity Yachts has launched 49.9m (164ft) tri-deck M/Y Lady Sura, project T-059, at its New Orleans facilities. The latest vessel to be built by the US shipyard, she is due for delivery to her owner later this month after sea trials.

Lady Sura has an aluminium hull and superstructure, with anigre, mahogany and varied burl finishes incorporated into interior design by Patrick Knowles and naval architecture by Trinity Yachts. She will be operated by a crew of 12 for up to 12 guests. Her full-beam master suite is spread over two levels, with panoramic forward views, she features a hot tub on the flybridge and a sizeable tender garage, said Trinity Yachts.

She is powered by twin 1,684kW diesel Caterpillar engines, and is expected to reach a top speed of 19 knots with a range of 4,000nm. She is flagged in George Town, Cayman Islands, has a gross tonnage of 485, and a displacement of 313.

Lady Sura’s construction contract was originally signed in December 2007. At the owner’s request, the project was postponed for a year in August 2009 by mutual agreement between the owner and Trinity Yachts, and work was resumed in October 2010.

Less than a week ago the Trinity Yachts facilities in New Orleans were facing power cuts caused by recent Hurricane Isaac, but luckily there was little damage to the yard other than a dry dock cover, and Lady Sura will be delivered to her owner shortly.
