SuperyachtNews.com welcomed an invitation from Feadship and Denison Yacht Sales to tour a unique piece of yachting history. 26.5m Patriot was originally the second in the line of Gallant Lady sportsfisher yachts, commissioned by a prominent South Floridian businessman in the 1980s, and is now on the market for $5.8 million.

She underwent a $10 million refit between 2006 and 2008 at Derecktor and has been designed, says her broker Justin Onofrietti, with performance in mind. Staterooms have made way for a vast engine room housing two MTU 12V2000CR engines powering her to a top speed of 28 knots.

"It's a gentleman's sport yacht", Onofrietti explains. The owner built it for the best possible sportfishing experience but, due to time constraints, has decided to sell it. Amazingly Onofrietti says interest has failed to pique at the show. This seems baffling considering the builder's identity. Where else could one acquire a member of the Feadship Heritage Fleet and a totally unique yachting proposition for €4 million?
