Superyacht Fleet Overview and Launches in January 2013

After a very busy January, fleet activity in February was a little quieter. Launches included two from Feadship: 45m Blue Sky and 99m Dream, the biggest launch from the Netherlands to date.

New Launches

Blue Sky  - 45m Blue Sky, the first superyacht ordered from mainland China from a western yard was launched by Feadship in a ceremony combining Dutch and Chinese maritime cultures. Read more here.



Custom Line 124 - The Ferretti Group launched the fourth hull of their Custom Line 124, the biggest launch from Custom Line to date, on 19 February. The yacht will be delivered to a Turkish owner in March. Read more here.



Dream – Feadship launched their biggest ever build, 99m Dream. Dream features exterior styling and interior design by Andrew Winch Designs, with naval architecture is by Feadship. Read more here.



Dyna - On 7 February Benetti launched their first yacht of 2013, the 39.6m Benetti Classic 121 Dyna (BC 129). Read more here



Majesty 125 - Gulf Craft has launched the third yacht in their Majesty 125 line. The 38.4m yacht will make her debt at the Dubai International Boat Show in March. Read more here.



Quaranta – Turkish yard Logos Marine launched 33.7m composite construction power catamaran, Quaranta, for Curvelle. Read more here.

New Orders

Project 2GES
- Christensen has secured a contract for the construction of a sixth superyacht in its Custom 50M Series, known as Project 2GES. The deal takes Christensen's order book to 10 superyachts. Read more here.

Trinity 59m - Trinity Yachts has signed a contract for the construction of a tri-deck superyacht. The 59m vessel is for a repeat client and his family. Read more here.

Zeus - Hakvoort has announced the signing of a contract for the construction of a 63.3m superyacht, Zeus. The deal was brokered by Moran Yacht and Ship. Read more here.

Progress Reports

Columbus 65 - Construction is underway at Columbus Yachts on the new 65m Classic superyacht, the third in the custom Classic Collection. The keel was laid on 20 February, in the Palumbo S.p.A. yard in Naples. Read more here.

Project Weta
- 77m Project Weta (also known as Hull U77) has moved from Auckland, New Zealand, to Whangarei, reportedly to undergo completion work. Read more here.

Deliveries

St. Princess Olga - Oceanco's 85.6m Y708, christened St Princess Olga has been completed and has set sail on her maiden voyage. The superyacht was originally launched in July 2012. Read more here.

Refits

M5 – TSR's business editor Don Hoyt Gorman visited Pendennis where the major refit of M5 is underway. “It’s a rebuild more than a refit,” said Captain Rocka Romcke. Read more here.

Monaco Marine at capacity - Monaco Marine is currently operating at capacity with 15 superyachts on hard standing, and a further three in the water. Read more here.

White Rabbit Echo - Integrated Marine Group (IMG), the New Zealand based superyacht refit company, has completed a major refit of 61.4m trimaran White Rabbit Echo. Read more here.
