Superyacht Fleet Overview and Launches in February 2014

With 2014 well into its stride, February was a very busy month for fleet news. New launches included the Sunseeker 155, Blush, and 47.6m Wisp from Royal Huisman. Several new order announcements, including 68m Project Skyfall at Sunrise Yachts, came as welcome additions to the global order book.

Launches

Blush - Sunseeker launches their biggest build to date, the 47m Sunseeker 155, for long time Sunseeker owner Eddie Jordan. Business Editor Don Hoyt Gorman visited the Poole yard to see the yacht for himself. Read more here.


BS003 - Benetti Yachts has launched its third Benetti Classic Supreme 132, 40.2m BS003, with delivery due in April. Read more here.


D105 - Taiwanese yard Dyna Craft has broken the 30m build barrier for the first time, with their new 32m Dyna 105 build. Read more here.

Dona Francisca - Uruguay-based yard Astilleros Buquebus launched the 52.5m classic schooner Dona Francisca in January. The yard is designed by Javier Soto Acebal and is the yard's debut superyacht project. Read more here.

Galatea - Heesen launched their first 40m ‘sportster’ superyacht, which has been christened Galatea, at the shipyard’s facility in Oss. The sale of the spec built sportster was announced during 2013’s Monaco Yacht Show and the launch took place on 17 January. Read more here.

H1 - Sanlorenzo has launched 36.5m H1, built for a German owner. She is the first yacht in their SL118 line, and flagship of the Sanlorenzo fibreglass SL range. Read more here.

Mangusta 165/08 - The Overmarine Group has confirmed the launch of the Mangusta 165E, the eighth hull in its Maxi Open Mangusta flagship line of 50m superyachts. Read more here.

 

Wisp - Royal Huisman launched and stepped the mast of the 47.65m classic sloop Wisp (yard number 393). Designed by Hoek Design, with an interior by Rhoades Young, the yacht is scheduled to deliver to her new owners in the spring. Read more here.


New Orders

38m Perini Navi - The Perini Navi Group has announced the signing of the order for a 38m racing yacht. Hull C.2130 is due for delivery in 2015, and follows on from her sister ship P2 which launched in 2008. Read more here.

CRN 44m - Following on from news of a MOI for a 68m order in January, CRN has now announced letters of intent for two 44m orders. Both vessels, being built for Middle Eastern and European owners, are from the yard's new SuperConero 44 line. Read more here.

Custom 164 - Christensen Shipyards announced the signing of an order for a 50m 164' Custom Series motoryacht at the Miami Yacht & Brokerage Show 2014. The new build is scheduled for delivery in August 2016. Read more here.

Project Skyfall - Antalya's Sunrise Yachts has secured the contract to build John Staluppi's 19th yacht, named Project Skyfall. The 68m vessel, which will be the yard's largest to date, is being built to exacting technical specifications relating to speed, draft and volume. Read more here.

Progress Reports

68m Columbus Classic - Palumbo Shipyard in Italy has reported that the yard’s Columbus Classic 68m, which is in build, is progressing well and on schedule to be completed for its 2016 launch. Read more here.

Azimut Grande 120SL - Azimut Yachts is preparing to launch the first of three superyachts it currently has in build. The 36m Azimut Grande 120SL is also the third hull in the range and is on course to hit the water in April 2014. Read more here.

Onika - Delta Marine has released a preview of its latest project; a 40m superyacht with a new high-efficiency hull design. Built for repeat Delta owners, Onika is set to be delivered this summer. Read more here.

Project Azuro - Heesen has confirmed the sale, by Burgess, of its latest superyacht project YN 16650, Project Azuro, which is due to be launched from its Oss facility in March. Read more here.

Truly Classic 126 - Set to be the largest yacht in the Truly Classic range, construction of the new Truly Classic 126 by Claasen Shipyards is progressing and the latest images of the build have been released. Read more here.

Refits

M5 - The 75m sailing yacht M5, which has undergone a major refit at Pendennis, has hit the water for sea trials off the coast of Falmouth to test her new carbon rigging. Read more here.

Seawolf - Seawolf has completed her refit at Atollvic Shipayrd in Vigo, north-west Spain. The vessel, which started life as a tugboat in1955, first arrived at the yard in September 2013 for her five-year survey. Read more here.

Brokerage Round Up
