Yamaha has announced the line-up for its 2012 ranges of personal
watercraft (PWC), including a revised look for the "luxury performance"
FX series. In particular the hull and deck have evolved by extending the
FX by 0.19m and the outside edge design has been softened, which will
improve ride quality for handling and straight line ride, says Yamaha
Motor New Zealand.
The FX Series has had some changes made for 2012
The FX is able to seat two passengers as well as the driver, and their positions are raised to provide a better view past the driver. There has also been an expansion of the storage on the PWC model in addition to an enlarged swim platform for the four 2012 models, which include supercharged and non-supercharged versions of both the FX Cruiser HO and FX HO.
The newly adapted FX series joins the rest of the Yamaha Waverunner stable. This includes the returning "high performance muscle craft" the 1.8L FZS, the most powerful PWC on the market with a bulkier superstructure than the more svelte FX, which is now available in both yellow and green.
Yamaha also commented that stand-up PWCs, which were the original s that fell out of fashion as the sit-down market expanded, are having a comeback due to the increased popularlty of freestyle riding and competition. Yamaha's stand-up SuperJet has been tweaked for 2012, with a sharp new paint job and orange decals for a sharp look.
