Pendennis Palma completes six month refit of 42m 'Fair Lady'

Pendennis Palma undertook a five year MCA LY1 survey as part of 'Fair Lady's refit. …

The 1928 Camper & Nicholsons build motoryacht, 42m Fair Lady, has just completed a six month refit at Pendennis Palma. The project included a five year MCA LY1 survey requiring ‘substantial’ engineering work.

A team from Pendennis carried out the overhaul of the main engine and generators, accompanied by a complete maintenance schedule for all engine room equipment. Pendennis contracted several experts from their UK yard to work alongside local Palma sub-contractors to complete the work. The refit was complemented by a full re-paint, including removal of all topside joinery, which was then refreshed and reinstalled, and overhaul of the standing rigging.

Fair Lady is a classic steel hulled and teak-decked motor yacht, built in 1928 by Camper & Nicholsons Shipyard, UK. She has been a regular visitor to Pendennis over the past 20 years, including in 1996, when she underwent a complete renovation to restore her to her former glory.

Pendennis Palma is based in the STP facility in Palma de Mallorca. It offers a complete superyacht service package, for both fully project managed refits or for leasing out of Pendennis’ skills and experience for specific works. The facility has completed several refits of classic yachts since opening two years ago in June 2011. Pendennis in the UK has restored classic yachts including Adela, Shamrock V and Mariette.
