MONACO, Port Hercule. Nakhimov Yachts has revealed the signing for a new 40m hybrid motoryacht at Italian shipyard, Admiral, which is expected to be delivered in December 2015. This is the fourth new build to be signed by Nakhimov—Admiral’s exclusive dealer in Russia and Ukraine—this year with a 45m, 52m and 55m already under construction.
“This 40m Impero series, which is an all aluminium vessel, will be built at Admiral’s new yard facilities in Carrara,” says Sergei Dobroserdov at Nakhimov Yachts. “She will have a revolutionary Siemens hybrid power system enabling the yacht to cruise at 10 knots on electric engines, consuming just 60 liters of fuel per hour.”
The exterior design was created by Luca Dini, with naval architecture provided by the shipyard and the general arrangement produced by Dobroserdov Design. The modern art-deco style interior provides accommodation for 10 guests across five en suite cabins, a large salon amidships on the main deck with full height windows and a spacious sundeck. This top deck includes an area forward for al fresco dining, a Jacuzzi amidships and a sunbed aft.
The 40m will achieve a maximum speed of 20 knots when using combined power. The vessel will also be fitted with modern variable speed generators in order to meet the owner’s request for an efficient and silent vessel. Nakhimov Yachts, which will manage the project and act as the central agent once the yacht has been delivered, has also revealed that Dutch specialist Klaver will be used to complete the metallic paintwork.
