Lürssen has secured its first new order of 2014, and its 13th active project, with the announcement that construction will shortly begin on the 74m Project Thor. The German shipyard will resume its longstanding partnership with Moran Yacht & Ship, which brokered the deal and will manage the project through to its delivery.
Andrew Winch Designs will be responsible for both the exterior and interior design, in what has become an increasingly familiar and successful new build tripartite. Project Thor will comprise six cabins, accommodating 12 guests. The steel hull will have a beam of 13.2m and a draft of 3.75m.
In a statement to the media Moran reiterated the US company’s satisfaction at renewing their partnership with Lürssen and Andrew Winch.
The Moran Yacht & Ship new construction team will continue to work with the owner and shipyard to manage the build process from concept to completion. The new construction Team are excited to carry on their excellent working relationship with the Lürssen shipyard and Andrew Winch Designs.
Moran Yacht & Ship are confident that after a seamless build process, Project Thor will continue the world-class superyacht pedigree of Moran Yacht & Ship and the Lürssen shipyard.
Project Thor is due for delivery in 2016.
