Lürssen has released images of a now complete Azzam, the world’s largest superyacht, which was delivered to her owner on 22 October. In its statement to the media the German shipyard has highlighted the yacht’s impressive top speed – said to be around 30 knots – and her build time of just three years as notable features, in addition to her record-breaking length of 180m.

The yard also acknowledged the work of the various designers involved in the project:

'This enormous achievement was possible thanks to the guidance and leadership of Eng. Mubarak Saad al Ahbabi who is the principal designer and the man who defined the original creative idea based on his in-depth knowledge of the environment.

'Azzam's innovative and timeless design has been developed by Mario Pedol from Nauta Yachts. [And] the interior design was created by the renowned French designer Christophe Leoni, who is excited to have been able to realise a sophisticated and luxurious interior in a turn-of-the-century Empire style.'
