Claasen Shipyards to build world's biggest J Class replica

Claasen Shipyards are to build the world's biggest J-Class replica. 45m Project 11 is set to be delivered in 2015...…

Rumours have been rife for some time that Claasen Shipyards were to build the world's biggest J-Class replica.

At the Monaco Yacht Show SuperyachtNews.com attended the launch of the Dutch yard’s new corporate video and brochure. Yard management were tight-lipped about the new project, but their new brochure gave away some small nuggets of information about this exciting build. 'Project 11' will be a 45m J replica, based on design drawing from the 1930s, and is due for delivery in 2015. Work is understood to have already begun on this exciting project.

The Dutch yard is experienced with J-Class and classic builds, having already built 43.4m Lionheart, currently the world's biggest J-Class replica. Their current project list includes a 38.5m Truly Classic design and the second F-Class, a follow up to the first F Class Firefly.
